You can have this as long as you would like, but it is better if it is only 250-500 words.  No one reads it anyway. 

You do need at least 250 in order to do better in the search engines.  That barely gives you enough text for good incorporation of keywords and to get effective keyword density.

You can have more pictures here, too, but not many and they should be smaller ones.
